As a re-creation of one of the first base ball clubs in Northeastern Maryland, the Rising Sun Base Ball Club combines sport with history  Our organization plays the game of base ball in accordance to the rules and regulations adopted by the National Association of Base Ball Players, held in New York in December, 1863. This includes 19th century style uniforms, equipment (no gloves!), language, and behavioral norms. The Rising Sun Base Ball Club is a group of amateur locals who play base ball as it was played before professional clubs existed.
